Reza's cold campaign should have run from a purpose-built sending domain with no marketing history on it. Not outbound.company.com — a completely separate domain. Inbox providers evaluate sender reputation at the organizational domain level — the root domain, not the subdomain. Negative signals from outbound.company.com affect the reputation score for company.com, which is the same root as newsletter.company.com. Subdomains protect you from nothing at the reputation layer that actually determines routing.
